Centro was born from the hearts of Angela Salamanca and her uncle, Carlos, who shared a love for art, and fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine. In 2007, with the help of countless friends and family, they opened the doors to Centro in the heart of Downtown Raleigh. Since that day, Centro has become a unique reflection of the people who have worked here, the customers, and the community surrounding us.
Supporting our community is very important to us and we love seeing it grow. We pride ourselves on using as many fresh, organic and local ingredients as possible to provide you with healthy, flavorful food as well as to support our local farmers.
Our mission is to serve you the best locally-sourced Mexican and Latin American cuisine, innovative margaritas and cocktails, and to give back to our wonderful community.
Centro is a place that has grown from our hearts and is here today because of you, and for that, we are forever grateful.
Whether it's steak tacos for lunch or the enchiladas for dinner, Centro never disappoints. The guacamole, salsa, and queso are all great, and the sangria is excellent. The atmosphere is awesome too - small, intimate, and authentic.
It was excellent. The atmosphere was laid back and the decor was fun and interesting. Honestly, it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in downtown Raleigh, if not the best.
The food was incredible. Hands down the best Mexican food I've had. Another reviewer mentioned believing the food tastes like it's made with love & I absolutely agree. So flavorful! Perfectly prepared! Top notch!
Our team loves gathering the community to taste new dishes and celebrate life with their loved ones.
Saturday, October 29th - As tradition stands, our restaurant hosts a celebratory 5K in the fall, not only to bring diversity to downtown Raleigh, but also to promote an active lifestyle for our community. Our partnership with the Brentwood Boys and Girls club keeps us inspired and aware of the importance of investing in our youth. 2016 marks our 6th year hosting the Day of the Dead 5k. We invite you all to run, sponsor a kid to run, or dress up and show up to dance.
This years race starts at 10:00 am, so get your running shoes and your best calavera costume ready! We are ready to celebrate and of course RUN!
Sunday, October 30th - This is the second year of this beautiful event.
We tell stories that connect and remind us of the beauty of life and its cycles. This year we will be gathering at the Oakwood Cemetery inside the maosuleum for an evening of live music, food, drinks, and stories. All proceeds will benefit The Boys And Girls Club.
